Book Printing

Once the pre-press stages of the book are completed and your book has reached an acceptable level of quality in terms of editing and layout, it’s time for printing. At this stage, you need to choose the printing method based on your conditions and timeline: digital or offset?

To answer this question, as we mentioned, several factors need to be considered:

What is the volume of your work?

If it’s large and constitutes a significant project, offset printing is suitable as it offers high-quality results at a lower cost.

• How much time do you have to finalize the work?

Is there a rush? If yes, digital printing is suitable. Offset printing typically requires more time due to plate preparation.

• What material do you intend to print on?

Do you need something specific in terms of material, size, or special cuts? If so, offset printing remains more suitable.

• What color are you aiming for?

If you require a specific color for your work, choose offset printing as digital printing can only provide the closest match

•Do you need to see preliminary samples of your work?

If you need to review a sample of your work before final printing to ensure its quality and standards, digital printing is suitable as offset printing incurs high costs due to plate preparation and lacks editing capabilities.

• Print on Demand (POD)

Print on Demand (POD) is an emerging technique for book printing. In this method, the actual printing of the book does not occur until someone makes a purchase. After the book is purchased, a series of automated processes are activated, and after printing is completed, the book is directly shipped to the customer. The entire process is highly automated and requires minimal human intervention or can be done without human intervention altogether.

What are the advantages of low-volume printing compared to print on demand (POD)?

Print on Demand (POD) integrates printing and distribution processes, making it a suitable option for authors who prefer not to deal with transportation logistics. However, in terms of the cost per book, it’s important to note that this printing model is more expensive compared to full-scale printing.

Low-volume printing offers the advantage of enabling more precise quality checks and achieving superior color throughout the production process. Additionally, low-volume printing provides more opportunities for customization to authors, including choosing the type of binding, book dimensions, and paper material.
